Barely months after it displaced Channels television to emerge the Television Station of the Year at the prestigious Nigeria Media Merit Awards (NMMA), Television Continental, TVC News, has relaunched as part of its plans to become one of the leading media and entertainment companies in Nigeria.
With an audacious tagline that says ‘First with breaking news,’ the television station has made investments worth millions of dollars to provide Nigerians with best news service possible, breaking the news as it happens.
This information was made known by Andrew Hanlon, the Chief Executive Officer of TVC Communications at the station’s Ikosi Ketu office while addressing a team of journalists who were on ground to inspect its ultra-modern state-of-the-art television studio.
Speaking on its investments, Hanlon says, “We have invested millions of dollars in live satellite technology and in our people-which we have based right around the country, thus enabling us to broadcast live anywhere at any time which means we are first for breaking news.”
He adds, “We understand and appreciate that Nigerians expect to be visually engaged by the aesthetic look and feel of a channel, so we have also just built a new state-of-the-art high definition TV studio. Re used to seeing the best from international
Observing that Nigerians channels, he added that they strive for similar excellence and perfection and that viewers will like the new offering of the TV station. “We have commissioned a powerful new suite of motion graphics and visual elements to really bring a contemporary and international look and feel to the TVC News channel.”
Commenting on the audacious tagline, he explained that it is a part of a five-year strategic plan to evolve the TVC brand. He adds, “our positioning statement of being ‘first with breaking news is a major promise to our audience that TVC News will be the channel you come to as big stories unfold anywhere in Nigeria.”
TVC News at 10 has been adjudged the most watched news broadcast in Lagos with an audience that has continued to grow everyday across the country and around the African continent on DSTV, in addition to its international audience in Europe and beyond on the Sky TV platform.
The new TVC News will be broadcast by Friday by 7pm.
