The Lagos State Chapter of the Liberation Movement Party has solicited Lagosians to be prayerful and more aware of their environments.
This call was made while commiserating with the state and victims of the unfortunate Gas explosion which claimed lives and properties in Abule Ado at the weekend, the party in a statement signed by the State Chairman Hon. Rahman Adebiyi urged the state government, to as a matter of urgency, set up an Abule Ado Welfare Agency.
Condoling with the state Governor, Bajide Sanwoolu on the unfortunate accident, the party said its admonition for the creation of the centre is necessary, following the high rate of casualties recorded in the cause of the accident.
“The Abule Ado explosion and fire outbreak which occurred on Sunday morning 15th of March 2020 wrecked serious havoc on the lives and properties of residents and its environs
” The Liberation Movement commiserate with the entire residents of Abule Ado in Amuwo Odofin LGA, Lagos State , especially those that lost their property and loved ones” the statement read in part.
Hon. Rahman said that NNPC and Lagos State Government must investigate the accident, take learnings from the findings, in order to forestall future occurrence.
The state chairman also pleaded with the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu to as a matter of urgency create an Abule Ado Emergency welfare relief Centre for the sake of the victims who needs palliatives to cushion the effect of the explosion on them, especially those who have been rendered homeless by the sad occurrence.
”My heart goes out to those affected by the pipeline explosion and fire outbreak at Abule Ado Lagos . May God console the families of those who lost loved ones, heal those injured and provide for those who lost properties” the Chairman prayed.
